Many small cell sites require not only AC power demarcation and distribution but capabilities for DC-powered loads as well. Raycap’s “All-in-One” products can offer both in a single enclosure offering several critical advantages:
- Full power distribution functionality in a single-enclosure mounted on the pole
- Space-savings near pole tops since only radio and antenna equipment are required
- Better access to power distribution and protection equipment near the base of the pole
Raycap’s various “All-in-One” products offer unparalleled versatility for small cell power demarcation, protection, and distribution. They feature Strikesorb® modules on both AC and DC interfaces to ensure maximum uptime and maintenance-free operation for critical wireless networks.
PowerPlus is a system installed at the DC Plant output that increases the voltage at the base of a cellular site to overcome this voltage drop. This allows carriers to use their existing infrastructure; cables, distribution, OVP’s, etc. and saves carriers tremendous cost and downtime.
Other custom power management products include our power protection cabinets (PPCs) and power supply cabinet solutions. These cabinets are made per customer specification to integrate all necessary components into a single high-quality cabinet.
Surge currents can cause loss of data transmission, switch tripping, disturbance of machine control systems, and slow but noticeable degradation of circuit elements. In addition, a surge can be an indicator of a short circuit that causes currents of power to travel along unintended paths with little or no electrical impedance, for example after a blackout or wiring insulation damage.
Raycap’s ProGRID surge and lightning counter solutions have various capabilities that can sense, record, and transmit the occurrence of otherwise undetectable surge currents, enabling users to take preventive measures and plan appropriate maintenance.
